Sunflowers - I realized about something in a beginning of this summer. Sunflowers that I have seen in the United States are much smaller than sunflowers that I always saw in Japan when I was growing up. When I think of sunflowers in my mind I always imagine them as really tall plants with a large flower on a top absorbing as much as sun. I also feel nostalgic to think of those large sunflowers that I grew up with since I do not get to see them very often. I wanted to paint how tall they looked for me as a child in this piece.
